Colors of Long Beach was a complete BUST!!!! The West End Arts association needs a better venue and more advertising. I spent 8 hours there today to greet about 15 customers. Most of whom were photographers themselves just checking out the competition. I did get some quiet time to mark papers but I could have done that at home. Oh well... live and learn. Tomorrow I am still participating in the Long Beach Catholic School Holiday Fair from 10-6 and that promises to be a better day. I hear wonderful things about that venue. Fingers Crossed :)

All purchased books have been delivered or shipped. Thanks for all the great compliments and support. Saturday, December 13th, 2008 I will participating in the Colors of Long Beach Fine art exhibition at the Recreation Center at Magnolia Blvd.. Sunday I will be signing and selling books at the Long Beach Catholic School annual holiday fair from 9am to 4pm. Also Carleton and Dayne and The Beach House are now selling "Visions of Long Beach". So if you want your copy gift wrapped and ready to hand-off go to Carleton and Dayne on the east end... right by Blockbuster and Pier One. And if you need a book late night and want to get something great to eat or a cocktail.. stop in the Beach House of the trendy West End. The food IS fabulous. The Beach House is only accepting cash. Also, I have "Jetty to Jetty" on display at the Beach House. It is a 24" by 60" panorama image of the beach during mid summer. Jetty to Jetty is also in the book on pages 26-27. To see it life size in a whole new experience.

Capturing "Visions of Long Beach"- Long Beach Herald article from page 22 Oct. 16-22, 2008

This was the actual article.

Visions of Long Beach- Front Cover of Long Beach Herald VISIONS OF THE CITY BY THE SEA

Very Exciting!!! An image included in Visions of Long Beach made the front cover of the Long Beach Herald the week of October 16-22, 2008. Ariella Monti wrote a lovely article- So Thank you Ariella. However I would like to make one correction. I graduated from the Photography program at Fashion Institute of Technology in 1998. I then went back to school to acquire my Masters Degree in Digital Photography From the School of Visual Arts and finished in August of 2008. The actual article  was layed out a little differently  on page 22 so I scanned it in an moved the copy around to fit this space better. It's a small image but if you want to read the article you can go to liherald.com .

Visions of Long Beach in NY Newsday Oct 13, 2008

My husband Tim and I have been marketing maniacs. We walk the boardwalk giving out postcards. We worked the Irish Day parade and the Long Beach Fall Harvest Festival. I did a book signing there with my first 100 advance copies. Before we left on sunday we were sold out. Newsday came to interview me about the book's story on Saturday. On Sunday a reporter came to take photographs of me while I was signing books and on Monday there was a half page about Visions of Long Beach on page A18. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't afford to buy that space and there it was, a big giant gift for putting this book together. Thank you Kenny, Nia and Julie from Newsday. So now I am getting an ordering surge. I'm thrilled to death but fear my buyers won't be thrilled with the wait. The bulk shipment is scheduled to arrive in the third week of November. Thankfully before the holidays. So please be patient. I am keeping detailed records and preparing shipping labels in advance. As soon as they arrive they will be delivered.

Marching Bagpipers- Irish Day Parade 2007

Irish Day 2008

In light of recent confirmation that the advance copies won't be arriving until Monday the 6th we have still decided to go ahead and reserve a table anyway. We will have our 5x7 post cards and a 10 inch screen at our table displaying the book's contents. So Please stop by! We will have oreo's too :)

Also, Those brave soles who take the leap and pre-order will save tax and shipping. We will cover both. The book price on Irish Day will be $45.00 flat so we don't have to make a lot of change. (That was Tim's (the husband) idea.
